1 of a kind Voice Assistant built into a belt clip guitar amplifier

I was at the local good will today and came across a $3 “belt clip” guitar amplifier. I thought to myself “if this has an 8 ohm speaker in it, I have an idea.”
It did in fact have an 8 ohm speaker. I quickly disassembled the amplifier leaving only a speaker behind. I disassembled an Atom M5 device I had. I desoldered its tiny speaker and soldered the amplifier speaker in its place. Then I mounted the M5 where the input jack used to be (perfect sized hole for the mic to hear me and me to see the LED.) I ran a USB C cord through what was the battery compartment and well… thats it. It was that easy. I glued the knobs back to the top of it since there was no longer a board with pots for them to attach to. The end result is a unique smart speaker that looks like a mini guitar amp.

Hi Zach, nice! :+1:

The title is a little confusing though: it’s not Home Assistant but a voice assistant.

You’re absolutely correct! My fingers go faster than my brain sometimes. haha. I corrected the title.
