2026.6 Beta Week

The point is that me personally (any many others, i'm sure) - i don't need any suggestions, because BEFORE i go editing my dashboard i know exactly WHAT card i will add. I don't want any AI, HA or anyone else to "suggest" me what i'd like to use - noone is reading my minds (yet)...

Yep, but that will be removed because the word "advanced" is scary and "implies a skill threshold".

edit:

This feels like the correct solution for all changes regarding power-user/new user.

Not to be picky, just stating, You create your first card, then in your dashboard you copy it and simply choose/change to next entity, and next etc. etc., so your BOLD “huge” is misleading And do to your way of “not” using the since ages provided feature

NOTE: i basically jumped in here for “reading” as i focused on reading the Front-End release, which i feel looks “promising” as i found quite a few fixes/changes which i recall came up/was “requested” in previous Release , so maybe there is hope “ For so called Old timers, Power Users and who else not accounted for in the focus on ” New Users “ Which btw i believe is a totally wrongs approach, a step-back for human kind
Kids Grow Up !, New Users Learn and Want more, Not Technical People have decided to “play” with Technical device, They just Can’t if they don’t wanna learn about Technical Stuff
I’m also not sure it’s an entire country/regional/culture aspect , it more a matter of will or wont .

If “Some” People simply wont RTF ( to say it short ) why even bother of trying to provide them with a “Cool” experience. Next generation might be “smarter” or want it another way i.e back to basic, or chip implant :joy:
I get and understand the aspect of making things easier, but not for the cause of forcing people ( i.e New User Last Year ) to change what he just learned, or make it a monthly pita for existing Users …

To me, the way it's done in 2026.5 and earlier fits my information centered workflow better than the new entity focused system. Just like with a lot of changes over the years, the push to make things easier for new users is having a negative impact on how long-term users do things.

I agree to “some” extend, but i already found a “positive” factor, i haven’t assisted, guided or helped anyone in here lately, so i got more time over for my "Home Projects” , and i “bailed out” of Beta few years ago … We all have our ways of “reacting” to things which we are not in control over

I just played a bit with this new "card offer" system by entity. I found out that sadly it's even more useless for me than i thought... namely, no matter which entity, service.... i choose it seems that it never offers any custom cards, only HA built-in... ? Anyone else saw this? Is this silent try to slowly "ban" custom cards? Hopefully not...

Custom cards need to implement suggestions for them to show up. There’s a dev blog post about them and documentation.

Not to be picky, just stating either, this was not removed... And there is no added clic to this workflow, except you get to select first your entity then your card...
Custom cards will also show up there as soon as their dev will implement the recommandation.

And not to be picky, again, if you want to set up quickly a small section with let say 10 sensors for whatever reason, one existing way was "by entity": select you 10 sensors, clic add, and it was done... your way is copy 10 times, open editor 10 times, edit 10 times... Compared to the stone age version, this flow was a wide (if not huge) number of clics saving, as people are complaining and counting every clic...

Anyway, this feature (multiple selection of entities) that was existing in many version before the beta (with standard tile or entities cards) and useful for some people (RTFM and using "since ages provided features" works in both way...) is apparently now removed... so back to copy/edit is now required for everybody!
As this flow is not existing anymore, everybody is back to "stone age"... I hope it will be introduced again with the benefit of the new proposed card for a batch of entities at once... If not huge, it will be a significant save of clics to be able to add batch of entities, with some card choice options.

It's roughly 10 lines of code to make it appear. I'm sure the curators of the active Custom Cards will quickly adapt.

I tested it with one of my personal custom cards and it was suggested under Community :down_arrow:

This is on our radar @sparkydave and we'll fix it as soon as possible.

HA Core 2026.6 has been shipped, so the Beta week is over.
