2026.9.2 update breaks zha + zwave_js integrations

No complaints, only appreciation here! Been using HA container for home automation for years without any update issues. It is funny how something that was once a novelty 15 years ago is now a staple in our everyday lives.

After upgrading to 2026.9.2, ZHA and Z-wave integrations no longer work. Did some minimal searching to see if I missed/could turn up anything obvious. Running docker container on an SBC for ~5 years. I don’t go more than a month without updating, usually checking/updating once a week is the norm.

Any guidance is much appreciated.

Confirming my Zigbee devices are not updating to HA ever since I installed this update, this morning. On my network, Z-Wave devices appear to be communicating normally, but Zigbee most definitely are not. Their states appear normal, but are frozen with stats = to what they were just before the upgrade. Furthermore, if I check the “Details” of Zigbee devices, I see the same thing - all the stats flatlined at that time and have remained there ever since.

FWIW, I have HA running on a headless Linux server. I restarted HA and the server, no change.

Same issue here. I had to restore from backup to the previous core version. Is this widespread?

All devices went down.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ No problem here with Z-wave or ZHA after update.

Doing fine here. Zigbee and Zwave both up and running.

Op your install is broken… All the unable to install errors across multiple integrations… It reports can’t open file.

Its not one integration. Whatever it is is impacting the ability to read those setup files but we don’t know if they are on disk and erroring or just not there.

If your log shows disk issues yoj may want to look at it otherwise Id try to roll back(restore) and redo the updates cause I haven’t seen that string of errors but it definitely looks like am install issue (and wholly unrelated to those other items you tagged.)

I’ve seen some other issues that may have a similar signature… Failing DNS lookup causes the install to Bork. Who is your ISP and how is your DNS setup.

Edit:
This issue appears related.. HAOS 2026.9.2 & several HACS integrations cloud based down - #16 by SeByDocKy

OP in that thread cleared by changing DNS providers and trying to reinstall.

The issue was indeed not caused by the 2026.9.2 update. My Conbee II stick happened to die at the exact same time I installed the update. Before realizing this, I re-paired a few bulbs, but they dropped offline again after just a few minutes. I’ve switched to a ZBT-2 now and everything is working perfectly.
