3-way switch recommendations; WiFi or Zigbee

I have several Treatlife SS02 3-Way switches that I bought years ago, flashed with Tasmota and integrated with HA over WiFi. They don’t make the ESP8266 versions any more and I’m looking for alternatives with Decora style panels.

I have good WiFi and Zigbee coverage everywhere and the switch boxes have neutral wires. If the switches are WiFi, I’m okay with either Tasmota or ESPhome.

The one thing I would like is the ability to use the switches in any location on a multi-way circuit like the SS02’s which had the circuitry to pull current from either of its traveler terminals.

Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

I use the same switches (with Tasmota) and love this feature — but haven’t seen it on any other switch. Most devices require to be installed in a specific box, and then require you to rewire the other switches on the circuit to a specific diagram, whereas the SS02 is basically a drop-in replacement.

That said, while the newer switches can’t run Tasmota, they should be able to run Esphome. I haven’t tried one yet but would be curious to know if/how they are working, or what other devices might work similarly.

It is an interesting but apparently not well known feature of the Treatlife switches that could have helped people struggling to get multi-way circuits to work.

Interesting that their switches with Beken controllers can be used for ESPhome. Your link is to a SS02S I will research how the entities show up in HA for a SS02 assuming it too is supported.
