Home Assistant Voice Preview Edition
So far, nothing in the Getting Started aligns with my experience.

Since my Home Assistant host computer does not have BLE I wound up using USB and ESPHome to get my WiFi set up on HAvPE.

My PE now responds to simple “hey nabu, turn on the office lights”

The next step is another bit of confusion.

  1. On the integrations page, under Discovered, Add the Whisper and Piper integrations.

Neither Whisper nor Piper were discovered.
When I go to “add integration”, “Whisper”, I get “Failed to connect”.

Any ideas.

They are Text to Speach and Speach to Text.

Before you can add the Integration, the Add-on have to be installed.

Thanks- again nothing in the “Getting Started” pages matches my experience. Like, advising the add-on’s to be installed.

So far, I am very underwhelmed. All I can do is turn my office light on or off. I haven’t been able to get any other lights to respond. The vPE responds with “turned on the light”, but no light is turned on. Why does the office light respond, but no others? Where do I even begin to diagnose what’s going on?
