433 Mhz receiver to detect owl cm160 transmitter

Hi all,
I’m looking for a 433 receiver (to be coupled with rpi2 with hass.io ) to detect owl cm160 transimitter that is actually monitoring my house energy consumption.

I’ve found some really cheap device WINGONEER RXB6 433Mhz

But I’m not sure it can work with hass.io to receive cm160 transmitter

Any help?

Any help on what this device transmits.

Hi nickrout,
Sorry if my post was not clear.
What I know is that the cm160 transmitter is sending watt measurement readings every N sec.

What I would like to understand is if anyone here has :

  1. successfully detected that measurements with some hw and which hw was used.
  2. if using hass.io on rpi2 it is possible to create a home energy gateway so that i can access from remote to check my house consumption.

I’m a newbie of hass.io and I still have to install it.
Thanks

RFLink seems to work with the OWL CM160.

I tried the rf433 receiver way but it was a mess
With the USB dvb receiver it was easy

Thanks
That’s the same I understood. I will try this way
Have a nice sunday

Besides the receiver you need some logic to decode the protocols.
The RFXtrx433XL is a device that receives and decodes the CM160 and many other sensors.
It can also transmit RF for devices like Chacon, Somfy RTS, MCZ pellet stove and many other, see the RFXtrx User Guide chapter 2

Thanks but this solution is too expensive i’ll try the rtl sdr

Hi @nenonano @Marcolintrek
I found this thread as I am trying to see what my Owl Micro (CM130) is sending.
I’ve got RTL-SDR up and running and I get see other things in my area, but not the Owl system. Did anyone get this working, and is it possible to see it on the ~433MHz band?
