Hi. I’d like to be able to limit/govern the speed on a golf cart for when my young kids are driving it. It would be great to be able to tap a button in the HA app to turn on “kid mode”. Then tap again and it’s back to normal.
It’s a 48v Club Car. Stays fairly close to the house so range should be ok. Just trying to figure out what device could do this. Any suggestions?
The speed limiter for an electric golf cart is typically in the programming of the cart from standard (~12mph) to fast (20mph). I am not sure what HA could change that would affect the programming. If it’s your cart, do you have the programmer to change it? Do you have owners manual?

What I envision is an electric motor “dimmer”. Just like an electric fan dimmer switch. When the switch is turned on then it would limit the voltage going to the battery around 50%. Thereby, everything would function like normal, but at 50% less. Think that maybe possible?
