50+ instances of the same Lifx light in Apple HomeKit

Hi. I have over 50 instances of the Lifx A19 light bulb showing up under Devices > Discovered.

I’m not sure how this is even possible. Screenshot below attached. I started ignoring all of these duplicate/multiple instances. It’s taking a long time and then I was thinking, has anyone else experienced this.

Lifx specific issue that comes up every year or so. It’s caused by a problem in the device that causes it to factory reset its HomeKit support over and over and generate a new HomeKit ID. It also floods the network with mDNS traffic when it happens. Either get Lifx to replace the device or chuck it and your network will thank you.

Hi @bdraco Thank you for the reply and context. I was having a hard to figure out even where to start for a solution.

Would you know of a way to remove all the instances, Does it all have to get done manually?

Restarting will make them all go away. Thats only a temporary solution if the device starts spamming the network again
