5GHz hardware for the voice assistant

I am a happy user of the Home Assistant Voice Preview Edition, but today I managed to remove my last device from 2,4 GHz, with the exception of the Voice Preview Edition. Is there any similar hardware that features 5GHz or LAN?

You could transplant a ESP32 with Ethernet.
Not sure the correct pins will be available.

Or you need to build one yourself from scratch with an Ethernet ESP32.

So something like this? - ESP32-S3 ETH Development Board, 10/100Mbps RJ45 Ethernet port, Wi-Fi & Bluetooth Support, 240MHz Dual Core Processor, ESP32 Ethernet Development Board | ESP32-S3-ETH

I would need to print a new Housing probably. And need to check the pins. That seems like a lot of effort. Are there ready made devices you are aware of?

No… I have not seen any ready made.
But yes that board could work. Not sure it will.
I’m mostly sceptical about the pins, I believe the Ethernet uses some of the pins on the board, that could cause issue with a transplant

It appears we may be in luck soon. There is an ESP32 with 5GHz out now from Espressif: ESP32-C5 2.4 and 5 GHz Dual-band Wi-Fi 6 MCU | Espressif Systems

I think integrating this will be much easier than the LAN port. But I guess I will wait a bit.
