A-Fire Water Vapour Fireplace Integration

Hi All,

I have an A-Fire water vapour fireplace that I can control using the remote control - apparently operating in the 2.4 GHz bandwidth according to the company’s support team - or using a mobile application through the Wi-Fi connection, or lastly there is a dry switch on the back of the fireplace. Excluding this last option which is kind of cumbersome and give you only the possibility to switch the fireplace on/off, I am looking for a decent integration with home assistant. Having remote control and mobile app, it should be possible to do a bit of reverse engineering and build an integration if it does not already existing. Can anybody help with that?

I had some time to dedicate to reverse engineer the mobile app and was able to create a custom integration with all the functionalities available in the mobile app and through the remote controller. It requires internet connection as it uses the cloud API but in the future I am planning to extend the functionalities with local LAN control. Feedback and contribution to the project are always welcome.

Have you made any progress in your attempt to bypass the cloud? I’m considering purchasing one of these fireplaces for my house, but I’m adamantly against unnecessary cloud tie-ins. That category definitely includes changing the colors of the flames on my fireplace.
