A Home Assistant, an Open Home Foundation convention every two years in different counties

Dear Nabu Casa Team,

I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to propose an exciting opportunity for the Home Assistant community: a biennial Home Assistant Convention, starting in 2027. This event would serve as a platform for enthusiasts, developers, and industry leaders to come together, share knowledge, and celebrate the advancements in home automation.

Event Overview:

  • Frequency: Biennial (every two years)
  • First Location: United Kingdom
  • Subsequent Locations: United States (suggested cities: Charlotte, NC; Atlanta, GA; Orlando, FL; Anaheim, CA; San Antonio, TX; Phoenix, AZ)

Venue Requirements:

  • Affordable hotels nearby
  • Good public transit access
  • Ample space for talks, questions, mingling, and sponsorship showcases
  • Preferably in surrounding areas rather than downtown to keep costs manageable

Event Structure:

  • Friday Night: Registration and dinner featuring key players from Nabu Casa
  • Saturday: Full day of activities, including classrooms, discussions, product showcases, and how-to sessions
  • Sunday Morning: Large panel discussion with brunch, followed by more showcases

Costs and Sponsorship:

The event costs will cover speakers, instructors, venue rental, decorations, signage, and other expenses. Sponsors will have the opportunity to showcase their products in the main hall, especially those compatible with Home Assistant. Vendors can include apparel, food, and service providers.

Key Participants:

We aim to include developers from Zigbee2MQTT, Govee2MQTT, Tuya, ESPHome, mushroom themes, and other popular add-ons, integrations, and HACS. Ensuring their presence will be covered in the event costs to guarantee participation from our favorite developers.

I believe this convention will not only strengthen the Home Assistant community but also provide valuable insights and networking opportunities for all attendees. I look forward to exploring the possibilities of making this event a reality.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
Antonio Edward

A Home Assistant, an Open Home Foundation convention every year in different counties.

In 2027, do you plan on having some kind of Home Assistant Convention in the U.S.A? I would come.

I am thinking of a Biennial event, every two years. First, of course, the United Kingdom. Make sure the venue is in a location where hotels are not high, good public transit, enough space for talks and questions, mingling, and sponsorship showcases. It does not have to be in downtown cities, maybe in surrounding areas where things are not out of reach for some people.

The morning and afternoon events can be classrooms, discussions, showcases or different products, how to do something, and more. In the afternoon to early evening hours, the main meeting hall can be vendors showcasing items that are compatible with Home Assistant.

Friday night is registration. A dinner in the main hall will feature some of the key players at Nabu Casa. Saturday, the activities can include a full day of activities and showcases. Sunday morning, it is a large panel in the large meeting room with brunch. The team of Nabu Casa talks about the previous few months (or last two years). Showcases the rest of the day and the event is over.

The cost will need to cover speakers, instructors, you guys/gals/them/all, rental of the meeting rooms, decorations, signage, and other event costs. Sponsors can pay for the main hall where they will showcase their products, especially if it is compatible with Home Assistant. The vendors can also be apparel, food, and service providers.

Of course, make sure Zigbee2MQTT, Govee2MQTT, Tuya, ESPHome, mushroom themes, and other great developers of the most popular add-ons, integrations, and HACS are there. It will be covered in the cost to ensure our favorite developers are there.

The next one can be U.S.A. If in the United States, suggestions for cities: Charlotte NC (that is where I live), Atlanta GA, Orlando FL (on Disney World property), Anaheim CA (Disneyland area), San Antonio TX, or Phoenix AZ. I do not know the demographics of where your users are most located, but I will pick the city with the most users, of course.

Thank you again, I love the best home automation software in the world.

(Now you see why I wanted AI to do the above), LOL
