I have a super-Noob question, but I can’t find anything online.
I’ve installed Moonraker HAC to monitor my printer. It’s working fine, but I have an issue that I don’t believe is related to just Moonraker.
There’s a sensor that I want to use as a trigger for an automation, but when I try to add the trigger, the sensor doesn’t show up.
So here’s my question. Is it possible, in a general sense, not in this specific sense, to configure a sensor to be a trigger without getting into YAML? I’m familiar with YAML and I’m relatively tech savvy, so I could figure it out, but if I can do it via the web interface instead, I’d rather do that.
I’m not asking for specific help with this sensor, or with writing the YAML if that’s how it has to go. I just am looking for a yes, no, or depends answer kind of thing, please.
Probably due to the normal reason, you are trying to use a device as the trigger. If you use state and the entity instead it will probably work as expected. I am just guessing as you gave no real info.
Anyhow see this especially the second bit in the automation section.
