AC Grill - Any idea on how to automate the movement?

Hello!
I want to open and close an AC Grill to create AC zones around the house. I have limitations: (I) It needs to be battery powered (ii) I cannot replace the existing grill (iii) I need to control it with my HASS (obviously XD) The current grill has a small lever with linear movement that opens and closes.

Any ideas on how would you do it? I am comfortable with the programming part, not that much with hardware, so a ready-to-install device would be welcome (Also to go thru the Wife Acceptance Test it needs to look decently good). I am going to try with a fingerbot, but I am not optimistic the bot gives me enough movement nor has enough power.

Thanks

Alvaro

A “linear actuator” is the device you seek, possibly.
Otherwise, a multi-position solenoid or servo motor.

Depends on the battery size I guess

Thanks for the ideas; the linear actuator does not give me (in a reasonable size) enough range of motion; at least, I haven’t found one. I will look into the multi-position solenoid. Additionally, I have not managed to create a device that runs in a small AA battery or similar and does not need a change in 1 to 3 months. That is, I believe, due to the wifi connection of the ESP. I should probably go for a bt or even RF solution, right?

@wolby Any luck? I’m looking for a similar solution to open and close the vents.
I saw the fingerbot/switchbot but they only have 8mm or 12mm max of linear movement.
