You are missing the point. I don’t care which post you mark as the solution, but your comment:

This indicated to me otherwise. That is why I clarified why I did not select yours as the answer, which was then further misinterpreted as making you look bad.
It’s completely fine to do that. What was unwelcome for me was @Thyraz’s comment. I would suggest that when you make an edit that you make it a bit more clear. Usually people will use strikethrough formatting, or the more old school way is to add an EDIT: block with the clarification (when it’s the post’s body). It’s just a convention what helps others.
