Access HomeAssistant locally

Hi!

I’ve setup Home Assistant on a Raspbery Pi. I want to access it locally on the same network with my laptop. How do I do this??

Thanks!

Find the local ip of your Raspberry Pi and go to raspberry_pi_ip:8123

The easiest way to find the IP on the pi is to run sudo ifconfig from the command line. You’ll get something like this:

eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr b8:27:eb:9e:80:ad inet addr:192.168.10.106 Bcast:192.168.10.255 Mask:255.255.255.0 UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:868818 errors:0 dropped:56 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:106016 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:294683485 (281.0 MiB) TX bytes:30612380 (29.1 MiB)

in that case, 192.168.10.106 is the pi’s IP on my local network. I set my router to always give my Pi the same IP, so I don’t have to play musical chairs every time it reboots. You may also be able to access your pi locally via its hostname, depending on your network config.
