Add devices on a subnetwork?

Is it possible to bridge devices that are part of a “guest” network?

For example, most of my devices are using 192.168.1.xx network, but some devices are connect to a subnetwork of 192.168.101.xx and I’d like to add them to HA.
The problem is that I’m not able to connect these devices to my regular 192.168.1.X network… I don’t know why… but that’s the case.

There’s a lot more going on here than a number, what kind of gear do you have

You’re describing what sounds like a consumer grade premise access point with guest wireless enabled. (im gonna bet it’s something like this for discussion of its not let is know)

If this is the case you probably won’t get what you want as the premise device is designed to prevent what you’re trying to. Also, while HA CAN communicate across various routed and unrouted networks (your subneworks) and you absolutely can make it work, HA doesn’t officially support anything beyond your local subnet that ha is on. It’s an advanced config and you better know your network routing and protocols.

So consumer premise router with guest wifi?

Whats your setup we can’t tell much from the description

If you’re using the default guest network settings on typical consumer router, then they by default block devices on Guest network from being able to talk to main network. That’s the point of a Guest Network. It sounds like you want an IoT network instead.

Can you give details on your router equipment and how you setup your “guest” network?

EDIT: What @NathanCu said! I was typing and posting as he did.

It could also be a secondary router behind the primary one…could even be a vlan (but doubt that).

So agree with @NathanCu , we need more specs!

I’m using Asus RT-AX88U with Merlin firmware.
I’m trying to add Switcher device (boiler wifi controller).
Switch is connect to the subnetwork I mentioned.

I only use a single router, so no double NAT.

The guest network is added from the web GUI of the Asus router.
Its Intranet is disabled.

Yeah sounds like you’re using a guest network and need a internal wifi… Someone familiar walk op through wifi settings?

Yeah sounds like your wifi is on a gest segment and not your internal network fix that and your trouble disappears (I haven’t used Asus in years someone familiar with the specifics? Sounds like guest off intranet on reconnect device and re-ip it?)
