Hi there,
It seems a good number of ceiling fans available in Europe are using the WiZ protocol (e.g. https://faro.es/en/ceiling-fan/). I’m using one of those as a way to optimize energy usage all along the year (heating in winter and cooling in summer) by circulating the air in a big room. Currently controlling the fan with a remote which does not allow to drive it with various HA sensors and bind it to the A/C system.
The current WiZ integration does not support the full semantics of the protocol and I would be glad to support development with some data from my device.
I’ve prototyped a WizFanEntity class that works well with my Faro devices (all attributes: state, speed, mode and reverse). It’s my first time coding with Python and had to work with genAI side by side so I don’t feel comfortable to propose a PR without having a conversation with @Sbidy first, but I don’t know how to DM him .
Hi Asneyap, I have 4 Faro fans integrated with Wiz, and they are the only devices I haven’t been able to integrate into my Home Assistant. Would you mind sharing the plugin so I can run some tests? Many thanks in advance.
BTW do you guys got a remote with your fans? Because I got one, but for some reason it doesn’t fully work, most buttons don’t do anything. Do any of you have the same problem?
I just got 2 Wiz Faro fans and I’m quite disappointed with the lack of possibilities to integrate it with HK @asneyap looking forward to your solution, I’m in the return window, and that kind of depends if I can get it to work.
