Hello, some time ago i have been implement mqtt bridge for Cooper & Hunter AC via Node.js and docker container.
It is possible to add native support of this HW to HA?? It will be really nice.
I created a separate docker container (3) for each C&H device (CH-S09FTXN-NG,CH-S12FTXN-NG) and they just work via MQTT broker. It’s not very convenient to manage the settings in each container, but it shows the status and I can adjust temperature. I didn’t test all the modes,TURN OFF works, TURN ON doesn’t work.
I have only one C&H device. Edited run.sh, now it is working until restart of HA. To fix it I made an automation for restarting addon after HA start and all is ok. All modes working. ON is not working, but it’s ok, because you can set mode and it will bring hvac to life instead of ON )
Check out the alternative implementation for cooper and hunter AC homeeasy_ha.
I’ll create a pull request for HA after some testing and checking the guidelines.
Hi All,
I’ve created another integration for our HVAC units.
The new integration connects to the unit directly(over the local network) so it doesn’t depend on the internet connection or the remote server, which was down for a few days a few times.
Also, this server provides unauthorized access to ANY connected HVAC unit, so it is a good idea to block access to IP 91.196.132.126 on your firewall.
It is also possible to switch the original Home Easy App to this mode, but your phone has to be connected to the same network to control the unit. I can provide instructions if someone needs them.
There is also a new feature that allows you to control vertical and horizontal airflow direction. It was supported by the app and integration library, but HA didn’t provide a good way to implement this feature.
The new entity type “input select” was introduced in the HA 2021.7, and it is used to implement this feature.
Currently, I have no plans to add this feature to the original integration.
