Hello Home Assistant team,
I would like to request the addition of support for authentication (username and password) in the OpenHardwareMonitor integration for Home Assistant.
LibreHardwareMonitor is a continuation and active development of the OpenHardwareMonitor project, and it provides the same functionality, but with more features and updates. Currently, the integration does not support the ability to authenticate with the LibreHardwareMonitor web server directly. This feature is important for users who have enabled authentication on their LibreHardwareMonitor server to secure access.
Use case:
- Users who run LibreHardwareMonitor on a local network and enable authentication for the web server should be able to enter the username and password in the
configuration.yaml
file of Home Assistant, just like other integrations that require authentication.
Benefits:
- This would provide a seamless way for Home Assistant to integrate with LibreHardwareMonitor when authentication is enabled on the web server.
- It would allow for better security without needing to rely on workarounds like setting up a reverse proxy.
I appreciate your consideration of this request and hope it can be implemented in a future update. Thank you for all the hard work you do!
Best regards,
Damian
