Adding Bluetooth Proxy on everything?

Hi!

I have set up some ESP32 running Bluetooth Proxy to extend my coverage. This seems to work fine but it got me thinking about other ESPHome devices scattered through the house.

For example I have some ESP32 flashed with ESPHome measuring temperatures and working as power meters.

Is it possible (and/or recommended) to add the Bluetooth Proxy feature to these devices “just in case” as an additional bonus? Is the Bluetooth Proxy feature demanding on the ESP32?

Do you need extended coverage? You dont need 5 in each room…

It uses quite a bit of resources.

Is it the same with the ble_presence binary sensor platform?

You should check your BT coverage to see if those areas even need it. If not, your not doong yourself any favors by turning every esp32 into a proxy.
