I have a “dumb” speaker with 2 inputs (Bluetooth and Line In). I would like to integrate it with hass, to be able to change the volume and such, however I’m not sure what would be the best way to do it. I have a Rpi 3 on hand right now.
Buy a Chromecast Audio and attacht it to the Speaker!
You will have a connected speaker for 30 $
and you can use it not only on Hass but with anything that talks Chromecast, Youtube, Spotify, etc…

Thanks, I’ll look into buying one. But, is there a way to emulate a chromecast audio with a rpi?
