After the JK-BMS RS485 add-on, We have started a new project in the same spirit: Smart Voltronic.
Smart Voltronic is a Home Assistant add-on for monitoring and controlling Voltronic-based inverters, including Axpert, MPP Solar, Effekta, Voltacon and many compatible models.
What does it do?
The add-on communicates with the inverter through a USB serial connection or a TCP/IP gateway.
It automatically creates the Home Assistant entities through MQTT Discovery, allowing you to monitor the main information from the inverter:
- solar production;
- house consumption;
- battery charging and discharging;
- grid usage;
- MPPT data;
- inverter status, alarms and statistics.
Multiple inverters are also supported.
Ready-to-use dashboards
Smart Voltronic includes two automatically generated dashboards:
- Smart House Dashboard, providing a complete view of the photovoltaic installation, battery, grid and house consumption;
- Global Energy Flow, showing in real time where the energy is coming from and where it is going.
The dashboards are responsive and can be adapted to each installation.
The project is still evolving, so feedback from other Voltronic inverter owners will be very useful, especially compatibility reports and protocol differences.
