ADS Integration

Hello everybody

I am using home assisant for some years and I love it. Behind the Home Assistant I have an CX from the company Beckhoff. I use the ADS Integration to connect my CX with Home Assistant. And thats the point, I`am not very happy with the ADS Integration, well it works, and with a lot of work (and templates) you can use it.

My idea, not only make an integration, or make the existing better, my idea is to make an library for Twincat/Codesys and the Home Assistant integration for that Twincat/Codesys ADS library. My problem is, i have a lot of experience to make software for Twincat, but i have no experience with python. So I am searching for people how have the same problems, and want to change it. ;o)

Who is interested in starting a cool project?

Same here… a lot of PLC expierence but no Python knowledge.

I use HA a lot in combination with Twincat. I ever tried to make a simple pushbutton integration but I failed. So I created a lot of Twincat function blocks as a workaround.

It works, but there could be a lot of less code.

So what we need, is a peson with less or no PLC expierence, but alot of Python knowledge.

Hello,
this is an older thread but I would like to revive it.
I also want to connect my HA to a Beckhoff Twincat2 CX9xxx with ADS.
Unfortunately I am not really familiar with Python nor with Beckhoff TwinCat2.
Would someone here be kind enough to help me with the ADS blocks in TwinCat and make them available to me? Maybe explain something about it? So that it would also work for me?
