I wanted to buy some Athom devices (rebranded Iotorero).
I’m looking at their:
RS01C3-ESP-1 (Power Monitoring Mini Relay for ESPHome ESP32C3)
PG01V3-EU16A-ESP-1 (ESP32-C3 EU Plug For ESPHome)
Did anyone ordered from their site from Europe ? Did you get import taxes (customs and or VAT) ? I’m specifically living in Belgium and anytime I ordered anything outside of Europe (or AliExpress), I got taxes whatever the descrition and price announced on the parcel so I’m particularly cautious.
I read as much good and bad from this company but it may be that those are being used over the limit which will not be my case. Also, I did not find much alternative except shelly which I’ll need to flash and come at a much higher price.
AliExpress will show you pricing including vat & taxes if you’re signed in with the correct country set in your profile.
Most other sites implement this automatic tax calculation when shipping to EU, irrespective of the amount, so you won’t have to pay taxes again once the parcel arrives.
Obviously this depends on the site, so check their shipping FAQ or contact support to double check.
*) at least for orders/ shipments up to ~150 EUR via the IOSS procedures. If your shipment exceeds that value, aliexpress can’t handle customs and taxes anymore and your local (last mile) carrier (or you yourself, if you’re registered as taking care of this at the local customs office in person yourself) has to take care of this, collecting customs/ taxes and adding their own handling fees on top (at least around here (DE) ranging from 8-40 EUR, depending on the carrier), in this case the taxes are deducted from the final bill by aliexpress (and you have to pay those + fees to your local carrier). So try to keep your orders/ shipments below 150 EUR, respectively split them over several days to keep each (collated) shipment under that magic value.
