Hey guys, complete Hass and Wink newbie here. I’ve managed to set up a raspberry pi with home-assistant and link it to my Wink hub, and can see and control all of my devices so far.
I was wondering though if anyone has ever gotten an Aeon Labs Minimote to work with HA thru a wink hub? I see where i need to switch it to Scene mode but as far as i can tell neither of the z-wave control panels work in HA with Wink. Is that right or wrong? Do i need to send the wink back and get a usb stick that does zigbee and z-wave?
Do you have the remote paired to the Wink hub? If you do I would love to see what the Wink API returns for that device. The only remote I specifically coded python-wink (the HA Wink library) to work with is the Lutron connected bulb remote. So it may be possible that it works, but might need some updates to python-wink which I would be glade to do.
That would be awesome! It is paired and shows up as an unknown device in the Wink app. How do i find out what the Wink API has to say about it?
Well it looks like its probably a no go. https://wiki.winkathome.net/Aeon_Labs_Z-Wave_Minimote states that it doesn’t actually act as a device on its own.
But, we can see what the API does. I’ll get a script together for you to check the response.
Or… You could temporarily “share” the device with me via the Wink app so I can just pull the JSON. PM me of that’s what you want to try.
So this has to be a stupid question, but i just signed up on this forum and i can’t find the option to PM you
So to wrap this thread up, it doesn’t work
Try a Lutron remote instead
