I have installed two old MS6s and two new MS7s. The Multisensor 6s work fine. But the Multisensor 7s don’t detect motion. They show lux, humidity and temperature. But they always show clear for motion.
I tried comparing the configuration, but it has changed a bit.
On a hunch, I closed the covers, as I can see that(in MS7), the button is pressed by the lid. I suspect it’s a tamper detector now.
Now, one of them shows movement, the other one still says clear. They both have been providing the temp, lux and humidity fine.
The first few settings are
[10-112-0-2] Motion Retrigger Timeout
[30] (Default) seconds
Allowable range: 0, 30-3600. Values 1-29 are equivalent to 30.
[10-112-0-3] Motion Reset Timeout
240 seconds
Specifies the interval after which the device will clear its status (Default: 240, max: 3600, min: 30)
[10-112-0-4] Motion Sensitivity
[11] (Default)
[10-112-0-5] Motion Report Type
[2] Notification and Binary Sensor Report (Default)
[10-112-0-6] Vibration Sensor
[255] Only send vibration triggered notifications (Default) minutes
Enables vibration sensor and specifies the timeout after which the sensor will clear its status; Allowable range: 1-254 minutes
I reached out to the supplier. They said that there have been reports about the tamper button being fiddly. So, I opened and closed the lid again, pressing down hard on the button and I interviewed it again.
And it sprung into life. I may have to jam some tape there in all of them. Why does it even need a tamper button (if its installed in the recessor). It is so hard to remove the recessor - like finger and plaster board breaking.
