Aeotec Multisensor 6 -Montion sensor

Welcome,

I am using Aeotec Z-Stic gen5. I added a multi-functional sensor 6. Everything is ok except the motion sensor, which in the long run indicates 3 and sometimes changes to 8 regardless of whether it has detected motion. I set parameter 4 to 5.

Can you help me set the motion sensor to work properly?

In general, the multisensor 6 sends a notification of “Tampering”, “Motion” or “Clear” using a single value parameter. Looking at a version 1.6 OpenZwave notification xml, 3 means Tampering, 8 means Motion, and 0 means Clear. If you are not shaking/vibrating the multisensor 6, then you should only get Motion reports followed by Clear.
I didn’t have to do any particular settings with my Multisensor6; param4 for me is set at the default level of 5…

I understand that. On the other hand, I have the value 8 (photo) most of the time.

Parameter 4: On time set to 240
Parameter 8: Awake timeout 30

You should also have a binary_sensor entity for the sensor. When that binary sensor is on, motion was detected. When that binary sensor is off, everything’s clear.

Another thing to try would be to set parameter 5 to send Binary Sensor Report (instead of Basic Set).

I set parameter No. 5

I already know that the sensor works well if I have mains power connected to it.

When I have batteries only, the sensor does not work properly

Since the disconnection of the power supply, the value of the motion sensor has not changed its value (8) despite the update

Not sure if it matters or not for your current problem, but are you running the latest firmware version? Might consider updating if not.

What kind of battery are you using, not rechargable is it?

There are some steps here:
