Short description:
Small, white plastic device, single LED combined with reset button, 220V main powered, acts as ZHA Router to extent reach.
Compact, turnkey, aesthetically pleasing.
Can connect to Home Assistant with ZHA integration without vendor integrations or plug-ins.
There is Z-Wave version of it as well.
Usage experience:
I owned device for 1.5 years, until it eventually died during re-seating to a new, better enclosure (wooden router box) for sake of making place tidier and less cluttered.
After re-seating it just didn't powered on again. Probably broke during unplugging - plugging back.
While it worked, it was enough to, while being into the center of 60m2 apartment to extend range to get reliable signal from devices behind single wooden door (closed rooms), while being hidden in the wardrobe in corridor (effectively another wooden door or wooden wall). Family tolerated it only being very small, not ugly and hidden away, hence the attempt to relocate it in to tidy router box, which bricked it for no apparent reason.
Pro:
- Size. Device is barely higher than common 220V plug. 1.5 cm over a plug, maybe.
- Power consumption. Rated at 0.15A. Not bad.
- Connection reliability. When it was configured, it barely had any configuration to change, it just worked. Until it broke completely.
Cons:
- Heat. Despite statements of its low power consumption, it was constantly warm, being in the center of apartment, and as result - constantly under load.
- Life span - It worked 1.5 year, non stop. That's a second Zigbee device which broke in my home automation experience (first was Aquara TVOC Air Quality Monitor). I would say I expected longer lifespan for functionality it provided, and price.
Sidenote: I saw many treads about this device either being unreliable or stopping working. I guess that tells about overall device build quality, in addition to my experience.
Conclusion: Overpriced, mediocre quality device.
I would not order it again, unless there would be absolutely no alternatives in terms of size and shape, as I don't trust it won't break again fast.
To prolong service, plug and configure once, and DON'T TOUCH It (considering how it broke in my case).
I do realise that one device is not enough for statistic, take it as is.
