After upgrading to ZBT-2, one of my Philips Hue bulb has started blinking every hour or so even when it’s off. I thought it might be related to ZBT-2 setting “Enable identify effect when devices join the network”, but its “activity log” showed nothing. No disconnections or anything like that was reported. Nothing in dmesg output either.
Bulb’s startup state is PreviousValue. LQI: 96 and RSSI: -76dBm
I’ve had a few odd issues arise with a few of the 70 or so Hue bulbs I have installed. The stubborn ones that seemed to get a mind of their own needed to be 1) removed from powered fixture, 2) replaced and turned on, 3) reset to factory defaults (I use the 4 button Hue dimmer), 4) then removed from power. As an extra precaution I’d replace the bulb and and reset once more before pairing them up again.
It’s not like I hadn’t reset them before, but I might start the reset while they were powered but not “on”, and I didn’t remove them from power after they were factory reset. Somewhere in the more tedious approach was the key to finally having those bulbs stop acting up randomly (it’s been about 4 months since).
Can’t say that would be your solution, but offered FWIW.
