I’d like to share the continuation of my smart intercom project,
this time focusing on the system’s intelligence using the SignalWire platform to create a conversational AI that answers visitors.
Ai-Thinker ESP32 Audio Kit V2.2 (ESP32-A1S) I Transformed an Intercom into AI (From Scratch)

Important: This video is part 2 of the project. While the first focused on hardware, this one focuses on AI logic and call handling flows. Integration with Home Assistant occurs via Webhooks, allowing the AI to perform actions such as opening gates based on the conversation with the visitor.
What the project covers:
- SignalWire Configuration: How to purchase numbers and configure the VoIP environment
- Conversational AI (Silva): Creation of the virtual assistant that answers the intercom
- Creation of Call Flows: Logic to identify delivery drivers (Shopee, Amazon) and service providers
- Voice and Security Passwords: How to configure specific names/passwords and time rules for gate opening
- Call Flow Builder: Answering machine configuration and call forwarding
- Webhook Integration: How the AI communicates commands directly to the Home Assistant
- Real Costs: Detailed explanation of values, credits, and costs per use of the system
For those who want to see the project in operation, I have also published a video showing the entire process step by step:
It’s a project aimed at those who enjoy applied AI, SignalWire, VoIP/SIP, advanced home automation, and real-world solutions in practice.
