AI Sync Box 2 + Zigbee Lamp

Hello

I have a Govee AI Sync Box 2 and I’m wondering if it’s possible to synchronize my TV LED strip with a Zigbee lamp I have next to the TV. The idea is to capture the color of a specific section of the LED strip and link it to the color of the Zigbee lamp.

I’m using Home Assistant and already have a bunch of integrations set up. Even after adding GoveMqtt, I’m not able to get real-time colors from the LED strip connected to the AI Sync Box. I’ve also looked into the Govee API documentation, but it only describes how to send actions like setting a color or turning the AI Sync Box on/off which works, but there’s no way to read the colors in real time.

Best regards

Welcome to the forums.

If your intention is to sync the state of the LED over zigbee, I seriously recommend you reconsider. Let me explain…

Even if you manage to read the colour of a specific LED segment, you’ll end up flooding your zigbee network with hundreds (or thousands) of messages per minute. Your other zigbee devices will not be able to perform correctly since the mesh will be constantly spammed every time one of the RGB values changes.

If you feel that you still need to achieve this despite the above, I recommend creating a dedicated zigbee network for your lamp to avoid issues down the line.
