Those of you who have smart ish air conditioning units may be able to help me out.
I'm trying to see if it's feasible to track energy use of individual units all linked to a single outside unit. A typical multi-split setup.
The idea is to divide fairly the cost of AC for three small apartments while keeping only one exterior unit for efficiency and room available.
Obviously it's the exterior unit who carries most of the load so a smart plug for each unit just won't work (I think)
But surely you can get data of what is asked of the unit, the fan speed, the actual and target temperature and so on. And maybe derive the proportion of energy used by each one?
Any thoughts on this? Thanks in advance!
