Hello everyone, this might not be the best place to ask about this but I think this community knows more than enough to help me.
I own a DSC PC1832 alarm system that is faulty and is going to be replaced.
My options are either a new PC1832 board or a change to a Texecom Premier Elite system.
The system is connected to a Security company that monitors and gets real time updates when the alarm is triggered. That connection is currently made through the telephone service, which was recently upgraded to VoIP. This is one of my problems as sending data through a phone line that is carried by a data line is dumb and I am also worried about my VoIP setup not being 100% good. So I want to change the communication method to IP, that way I can have an LTE backup in case the internet service is down. The VoIP line is tied to the ISP so that would not work through the LTE service.
Second, I want to be able to monitor the system and most important, keep and access logs. I want to be able to see when the system was armed and disarmed.
Third, I would like to start implementing automations using the alarm system. I would also like the ability to arm/disarm through the local network although that is not that important.
I found about the Envisalink modules and got really exited. However, I am not sure if they are suitable for IP communication to the security company. With Texecom on the other hand, there is the Com-IP module that I am already using at another house that is supported by the security company’s monitoring software and that I think can do most of what I want.
I would like to stay with the DSC system but I am unsure if what I want is possible. I am also situated in Europe and I have not yet found any available Envisalink modules here in my limited search.
What are my options?
