Alexa Announcements Broken After 2026.7.4

I updated Home Assistant to 2026.7.4 and also updated Alexa Media Player through HACS. Since then, all of my Alexa announcements and Alexa-based automations have stopped working.

During troubleshooting, I changed my Amazon password, but the problem began immediately after the updates. Amazon 2-Step Verification is not enabled.

Things I’ve already tried:

  • Restarted Home Assistant.
  • Verified Home Assistant is otherwise running normally.
  • Reconfigured my Amazon login.
  • Confirmed my Amazon account is accessible and the new password works.

At this point, Alexa announcements are still offline.

Has anyone else experienced this after the recent Home Assistant or Alexa Media Player updates? If so, were you able to fix it?

Check your logs for errors. Looking at issues it appears to be a common problem. Are you only using notifications? If yes, you may want to take this time to switch to the built-in amazon devices integration.
