Not sure if this is the problem, but what are you using for the OTP? You can’t use the one that’s texted to you by Amazon. You have to set up an authenticator app and use that code. You can set this all up in the two-step verification settings of your Amazon account

I get the same thing. I’m using the authenticator app and get “an unknown error has occurred”.
