About a week ago Alexa no longer is communicating correctly using the Phillips emulated hue integration. I’ve tried almost all the tricks and tests to me knowledge (I’m no dev) with no luck. I’ve searched to see if something has changed and not getting anywhere. The verification troubleshooting tests all respond correctly, as it should work but no luck. Did I miss a big change somewhere?

Amazon shadow updated echo dot’s firmware. This change makes it so the default port 8300 no longer works for discovery or normal use. The only solution so far that works is to delete all your devices. Change your port to port 80 (Only possible on hassbian, not hassio), enable port 80 use through CLI (which is why this cannot be done on hassio). Then rediscover your devices.
Amazon has no plans to change this, and there isn’t much that can be done on the emulated hue side to make this work.
Your best options are to move to haaska, Alexa Smart Home Skill, or the paid cloud service.
