The HA Cloud service is good at exposing entities to the Alexa (Echo) system, sometimes too good. The sensors from my weather station are all exposed but having Alexa announce the values presented by those sensors seems impossible. While Alexa categorizes the weather station temperature sensors as type: ‘temperature sensor’, they are not listed as such when attempting to create a routine within Alexa.
The Alexa (Echo) system is linked to never accurate Accuweather and I do not see a way to disable that. I have had the Ambient Weather skill enabled in Alexa, which works but the only options are to request indoor/outdoor conditions which results in Alexa listing every sensor in the category when all I want is the temperature.
Try as I might, I have yet to find a way to have Alexa announce the outside temperature, including renaming the sensor to ‘real outside temperature.’
