Hope everyone in the uk is enjoying the nice weather.
I have just moved my HA install from old 32 bit hardware to a new 64 bit x86 based box with a new zigbee network coordinator and Zwave dongle. After a day or two of re-adding devices etc I am almost back to where I was but I have one problem I cant fix , so I was hoping for some help if possible please.
The problem is the Home Assistant skill in Alex . I have it enabled but it no longer finds any devices/scenes etc in HA. I have tried to disable and re-enable the skill . I spent an hour removing all the old devices from the Alex app but still I cant get it to work.
Does anyone have any ideas why it no longer works?
Second question is I was using it to run certain routines, is there an alternative voice assistant I can use that does work with HA … keeping in mind I have a number of Alexa all over the house so they are the voice pick up points.
Just to add. I found a fix of sorts. Under voice assistant setting you need to expose the items to Alexa. Once I did this it work for a lot of them but not for everything and you need to keep disabling the skills and re-enabling it to find any new devices if you change the exposed settings. It worked so much better before , not sure what changed.
Because you didn’t delete them from the Alexa app?
Haven’t used mine in a while, but I seem to remember the Alexa app won’t remove devices by itself, even if they no longer exist. It’ll keep marking them as unavailable or offline until you remove them manually.
Same here. The Alexa App will keep the old devices most likely because it thinks they are simply turned off. I have experienced the app doing the same with Amazon devices.
