Alexa state reporting, no device

Hi all,

I’ve got the paid Alexa cloud integration. Working perfect, but would like to trigger some routines in Alexa using home assistant.

I have state reporting enabled, the devices are visible in the Amazon app. Only lights and switches, some input Boolean. But I cannot pick any of them to trigger routines.

I read some old posts regarding only certain binaire sensors like door, window being able to be used. Is this still valid?

You need the Alexa media player custom integration from HACS. The official Integration allows you to control HA entities with Alexa, but not the other way round.

Hi, got it to work with the Nabu Casa cloud service. I was correct in assuming the device type had to be door or opening.
