Hello. I am successfully using the Yale integration to lock and unlock our front door. The only thing missing is the ability to deadlock the Yale Lock. It would be great if this functionality could be added to the integration. In the Yale app long press & hold will deadlock the lock. To automate this based on home occupency would be very useful. What is the difference between lock and deadlock?
Hey Tom,
This lock has a triple lock or deadlock feature designed for glass doors, making it impossible to open from either side without proper access. Even if someone breaks the glass, they won’t be able to reach through and unlock it.
- When it’s locked, it can’t be opened from the outside but can be opened from the inside.
- When it’s deadlocked, it can only be opened via the app or key fob, both from the inside and outside.
My previous lock also had a deadlock/triple locking function but required a key.
make sure to vote for you feature
Oh right. Duh. The same as deadlock with a key. I should have figured that.
Yup would love this feature!
Hey - I revisited this and don’t know when the integration was updated or if I just missed it but the ‘secure mode’ is disabled. I enabled secure mode and I now have deadlock functionality
So good, it basically appears as a lock, it you turn it on deadbolt mode is turned on. When you unlock the door using the normal lock/switch it disables the deadlock feature. So good got this linked to automation when everyone has left the house. Nice
