do you think there might be problems using an always-on script?
Almost certainly! 
As a matter of interest - how do you make it always on? I can see that you might get it to repeat, but isn’t “always on” a template sensor or something?
For example I could make a loop with an exit condition that will never happen. then within this loop I could check for other conditions/states and perform operations.
what do you think would be the problem with having it always on?
