Amazon recommending to "remove any Alexa Service" from HA

I have been having issues with my Alexa app showing no devices recently. At the same time I see Alexa Devices integration is showing what looks like throttling errors from the Amazon service. Here is a post that I have seen on the Alexa forum: Amazon Digital and Device Forums - US

I am not sure which “Alexa Service” is being referred to, and if that also includes Nabu Casa. I can say that I had Alexa Devices turned off and Voice Assistant/Nabu Casa turned on for a week and everything did start working again. I re-enabled Alexa Devices and the Alexa App (iOS and Android) once again started not loading device status.

The rate limiting affects both the Alexa Devices and Alexa Media Player integrations.

It does not appear to affect the Nabu Casa or Alexa Skill since voice control will still work for entities that were already defined before hitting the rate limit.

Unfortunately no one knows exactly how long the rate limit is active for. The only thing you can do is disable the integrations (Alexa Devices and / or Alexa Media Player). Due to the way these work, I would also recommend only using one of the Integrations.

Once you disable the Integrations periodically check the Alexa Mobile App to see if your devices show up. Once they do, you know the rate limit has been removed and you can re-enable the Integration. Just make sure you are running the latest version of the Integration since the Dev’s have been actively working on fixing this issue.
