Android 6 and presence detection

Hello,

I’ve updated both of our phones to Android 6.01 (Marshmallow) and it totally breaks presence detection. It is because it adds something called Doze which decides to put the phone into Doze mode if it isn’t on or moving. This turns off thing like data. I’ve not yet found a way to disable it unless you root the phone. I know it is Doze that causes the issue as I setup a galaxy s2 with v4.4 and 14 hours later it hasn’t skipped a beat.

Anyone else have this problem? this is making it as bad as the iphone.

I read somewhere that you can disable dooze for certain application

it doesn’t work unfortunately. I disabled doze for gps logger and various other things… nada

looks like I have sorted it, so posting on here in case anyone else has this problem. There is a paid app on google play, disable doze.

Phone has been in the other room since 9am and status has been “home” since then… perfect!

what about battery consumption …
