Android (TV) stick to run Fully kiosk as Magic Mirror

Hey everyone, so a while back I bought an TV98 ATV 8K to run Fully kiosk with my “Magic mirror” dashboard made using Home Assistant components/interface:

Now this has been running fine mostly, but over the last couple of weeks/month the TV stick has been constantly crashing/loosing WIFI a couple of times per day (the WIFI interface goes missing).

Now I’m overall very happy with the setup otherwise, and am looking to replace just the TV stick with something stable. So does anyone have any good suggestions? The form factor is crucial as the device sits behind the screen crammed into the “connection slots” space with some minimal cabel connections:

The only requirement really is that its able to run Fully kiosk android app, and that it can run of the USB power from the screen

Hi Joel, did you find a solution or get any recommendations?

I’d like to do the same as you and i am currently searching for a reliable (but affordable) stick to use.

Every hint would be welcome.

bye

I got an cheap Android TV stick from Aliexpress, costed me about $18 + shipping. Runs Fully Kiosk browser and it works mostly, I guess sometimes it get a bit hot which seems to turn of the wifi. The stick is powered via the screen, and the screen is now hooked to an zigbee relay so that when wifi drops for > 5 min it toggles the relay on/off which solves it for me

It’s not perfect, but works 99%
