In the March beta there is a new wake command that uses the companion app. There is no documentation on how to set it up and use it. I would like to test it due the beta cycle but do not know how?
Read this
but as its in beta the docs may not be ready yet, and if you are not sure how to do this then be careful doing it with your production setup, as beta testing is really for the more experienced user.
I have been beta testing for 7 plus years. I did read the release notes and it mentions a video that is missing and no write up. I understand that beta is a work in progress, but there should be something brief describing how to setup and use. If not, how do you test it prior to release? I would think asking here would be the place to ask as there most likely was a change to the companion app that allows this?
Wait a few days till the write up appears or just look in the app settings.
You did not make it clear you were aware of how to test betas, you really need to be a part of the discord discussions where the testers and developers are, they may be able to help.
I as well as others asked there already with no response. I asked here as usually the developer monitors this forum and maybe he could give a clue.
Hello !
I managed to make it work on my Android phone, so I’ll share you how:
- Install the 2026.3.0.dev0 (obviously)
- Download the 2026.2.6 Android version
- Go into Settings > Companion app > Assist for Android > Enable wake word detection

Hope this helps!
I am a beta tester of the companion app. I only see 2026.2.3
