We have two of these, one on each nightstand. It does the job well, but I was wondering if there was some variant that’s constructed out of metal.
Being constructed out of metal is not a a good idea since that would provide some RF shielding and thus prevent reliable Zigbee communication. I noticed the ones you linked to are kind of “thin”, a quick search reveals ones that are a little heftier and might feel more “premium”?
Also, people seem to like the single button Ikea ones, which are in fact Zigbee based and work with HA.
Doh, you’re absolutely correct. Thanks for the recommendation, I’ll look into that one. Worst case scenario perhaps I could 3D print an enclosure and add some sort of substrate for heft. Thanks again!
