It looks like I waited too long to upgrade my Z-Wave stick. I’m currently using an HomeSeer SmartStick+ (G2), I tried to import the configuration into the new TubesZB-ZW with an 8th gen Zooz 800 Long Range ZAC93 controller. it looks like the configuration is not compatible. does anyone have a suggestion as to a solution?
Hello Azi0,
I just went thru that.
Yes there is a way.

Your issue appears to be different to mine. My error is:
INFO Z-WAVE: Did not find a matching NVM 500 parser implementation! Make sure that the NVM data belongs to a controller with Z-Wave SDK 6.61 or higher. (ZW0280) restoreNVM undefined
this leads me to believe my source controller is too old for the new controller to import.
I just went through this process with a zwave.me UZB controller that was on zdk 6.51. I was able to upgrade that to 6.61 and then take a nvm backup to use with the homeseer G8 stick. From what I could find the nvm backup from 500 to 800 was not an option with the Zooz Zst39. I had bought one a while back and had just been sitting on it as I have 89 zwave devices I didn’t want to re-pair.
Unless you want to re-pair all your devices I think the homeseer stick is a better option. They could also give some advice on upgrade path for your older device that zooz probably couldnt.
I have a Gen7 USB coordinator (Aotec) which I also was unable to restore to. I’ve looked and can’t find any firmware updates for my old SmartStick +
I too don’t want to pair all my 61 Z-Wave devices again.
HomeSeer has a procedure by the looks of things, but I’ll need to install and configure a homeseer instance which I’d prefer to avoid.
To anyone else that is having trouble migrating from an older Z-Wave controller, I managed to get my configuration upgraded to the 8th gen Zooz controller by using this script:
https://forums.homeseer.com/forum/homeseer-products-services/homeseer-z-wave-products/z-net/1696429-zwave-js-now-supports-migration-from-later-500-series-z-net-to-700-800-series
I did everything in a HomeSeer trial instance because I had already tried using the HomeSeer native tools and had that instance handy, but I’m pretty sure the same process will work in Zwave-JS-UI as it looks very similar.
with the native aeotec tools you can bavkup the NVM, and then see if the 800 series will accept it in ZWaveJSUI.
I have a link above to the HA Discord where I got my help. Ask in that thread if you want more advice…
