My connectivity was lost today, same in Alexa but Nest app works fine. Had a strange Google email to check permissions which I have and both enabled. Both just seem unable to see my thermostat now.
Anyone else? Any ideas?

It did not stop in my HA (Yellow Box) but I received email from Google that soon they will make changes with the older Nest thermostats (1st and 2nd generations). I have not read yet in detail, but there may be implications for HA.
“Starting October 25, 2025, your device will be unpaired and removed from your Nest app or Home app. This also removes third-party assistants and other connected features like Home/Away Assist.“
I will gleefully take my hammer to the nest when the time comes and replace it with something not dependant on whims of the mothership.
Yes, exactly the same happened to me: email about permissions, and no longer working with Alexa and Home Assistant.
I’ve got a 3rd gen Nest, so isn’t the support ending as it’s not a 1st or 2nd gen.
I’ve tried removing the Alexa skill, unlinking on the google permissions page, and readding the skill and permissions but no joy, it doesn’t find the thermostat.
I’ve not tried removing and re-adding to HA yet, as I don’t expect it will work. I’d rather leave it as is just in case this turns out to be a temporary issue.
Hi ryamoo, this is driving me mad. Mine is also 3rd gen, this must be a Google issue, it works fine in Nest app. I can see it still in Google Home app but strangely when I click the settings it says ‘requested entity was no found’ yet I can turn the heaing on and off. This is really annoying. I at first thought it was the discontinuation issue and was furious anyway but then realised mine is 3rd gen. Please let me know if you fix… Also the Google email was weird as I made no changes but the email said a new device added and I have deleted and recreated several times now.
I have been in discussion with Google on this one, still no fix (please let me know if anyone else has). They dont even seem that clear on which version I have despite giving them plenty of info. I am starting to concule its a 2nd gn which makes me think its all part of their scheme to make 1st and 2nd gen unusable shortly.
I have a 3rd Gen, HA integration broke on the 10th of July.
OK, interesting exactly the same here so has to be Google. I am in contact with their support, I will update here. This is useful info, whatever they did that day broke something.
I think that I have one 2nd Generation and one 3rd generation (as well as latest model in the garage) and have a Yellow Box. My 2 Google Thermostats in the home are working in HA. The 3rd one, I have not been able to add it as it is on a different wifi network. I’d love to find a way to add the devices FROM the Google Home App to HA. My Google Home audio devices work via the Google Cast, but not the 3rd thermostat.
Totally unimpressed with Google’s investigation as they now tell me to contact HA and Amazon like both of those would have failed the same day. Its clearly a Google issue for whatever they did on 10th July when mine and others stopped working.
fixed it, reset to defaults, removed Nest app and re-added thermostat to Nest app, then appeared in Google Home and added ok back to Alexa and Home Assistant. Key is to totally remove and re-add from start to Nest app.
Apparently to yours party, but I had the same issue.
Went through the developer portal and checked everything plus some in there, no joy
Removed the HA Google nest Integration and reinstalled no joy… until… I had the prompt where you can essentially re-create some code or other, I forget what it was called, but instead of selecting the code the integration was using, click the button to create a new code/key and right after that nest integration found my missing devices.
