I’ve been trying to use Assist on my Oneplus Watch 3, but I nearly always get a “assist couldn’t reach home assistant” error when I initiate it. If I do get as far as issuing a voice command “e.g. turn on hall light”, it usually misinterprets the command (“sorry I am not aware of any area called whole”).
Has anyone managed to get Assist working reliably on their Wear OS watch?
Sorry not much to add but I do have it working on a Samsung Galaxy watch 6 classic.
No special setup. It does work. Lag is bit more than ideal from speaking command to the action but it does work.
Shhhhh y’all just gave me a reason to hijack my wife’s watch hold on…
Check if wifi is on. I could make it fail repeatedly by turning ON power saver which turns off wifi.
Turned off power saver turn wifi back on. Instant assist response.
Wifi seems to be turned on - I can browse apps on the Play Store, for example.
What also happens alot is that the Assist interface opens, with the microphone icon glowing, but it doesn’t seem to detect any voice input. I need to tap the microphone, dictate a command (which gets displayed on the watch), then press the Send button. At this point it then usually says: “Assist couldn’t reach Home Assistant”.
