App cannot find URL for HA Green (Mesh network)

Hi, I’m new to HA so am getting use to everything.

I’m having issues connecting to my HA Green via the app or IP. It only seems to work when I’m connected to a particular node on my mesh wifi and I don’t know why?
I don’t have issues with my PC so I can still manage my server but would like to play with HA whilst on my phone in another room.

For context:

  • I have HA Green on HAOS 14.2
  • HA Green is pluged into my router for the mesh network via ethernet.
  • My mesh network is Nest Wifi (not pro) and I have a router + 2 nodes.
  • I don’t have anything more sophisticated in terms of networking hardware in the house.

Please let me know what other information you need to understand / troubleshoot this issue.

I can only connect through the app when I’m sat next to my PC. I thought using homeassistant.local:8123 would work but it doesn’t. I tried using the local IP address too but this doesn’t connect either.

I’m probably not understanding something so would love somebody to educate me.

It sounds like your phone is on another network.

What is the IP address of your:
Router?
Home Assistant?
Phone?
